Enzo has been playing the piano for many years. He
was born in Manila, the Philippines in 1995 and started on the piano at
9 1/2 years with his older brother teaching him. At 10 years old, he
began formal piano lessons at the University of the Philippines Piano
Extension Program under Prof. Mauricia Borromeo.
At age 12, with
just over 2 years of piano studies, Enzo had his 1st piano recital,
playing Mendelssohn's Concerto No.1 in G minor which was dubbed as "the
recital of the year by a young artist". At age 14, he had his 2nd solo
recital assisted by the Manila Symphony Orchestra under Jeffrey Solares
with Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor as the main piece. The
recital was given excellent reviews by Manila's press.
Also at
age 14, he won the most prestigious piano competition of our country,
the 2009 National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA). He has
also won for many consecutive years the top prize of the yearly piano
competitions of the Piano Teacher's Guild of the Philippines (PTGP) and
the 2008 Piano Competition of the UP College of Music.
Lorenzo wishes and dreams of one day becoming an accomplished Filipino pianist who will proudly represent his country.
