Alexander Lu, recently made his debut with Seattle Symphony as a winner of 2013 Young Artist Audition, performing Mozart Concerto No. 21 in C Major. In May of 2013, he made his orchestral debut with Philharmonia Northwest as a winner of Seattle Young Artist Music Festival Concerto Competition, performing Grieg Concerto in A minor. In July 2013 he performed in Italy’s Music Fest Perugia as a soloist and recitalist. Alex was a Gold Medalist in the 2009 Seattle International Piano Competition age 9 and under category, a Grand Prize winner of 2010 King FM Ten Grands Young Artist Awards competition and a First prize winner of 2011 American Protégé International Piano Competition. He has appeared in performances at New York’s Carnegie Hall and Benaroya Hall in Seattle and was featured in the 2010 and 2011 “Ten Grands Concert”, on King FM “NW Focus Live”, and was also chosen to perform in the 2010 Seattle Chamber Music Festival’s “Emerging Artist Series”. Alex has also appeared on local televisions, radio, and other media such as KOMO TV, King 5 TV, MSNBC, Classical KING FM, and the Seattle Times. He is currently a student of Dr. Sasha Starcevich.

Alex performed at Horizon House in Seattle 9/10/08 for "Musical

Alex has been a student of Dr. Peter Mack since June 2006 and was a first place winner in 2007 Seattle Bach Festival Junior Division and Central Washington University (CWU) Sonata Festival (Level 10), the youngest winner of Northwest Chopin Festival, first place winner of 2008 Russian Music Festival, first place winner in both the Elementary Solo (2008, 2009) and Concerto competitions as well as the overall winner of all classes for Elementary School division Concerto competition of Performing Arts Festival of Eastside (PAFE).
In 2009, Alex was chosen as a winner Seattle International Piano Festival (SIPF) competition Junior "Age 9 and under" Category.
Alex has been interviewed by MSNBC, King FM 98.1 and Seattle KOMO TV4 for his musical journey.
